January, 2005 - SGC Fermentor Design Wins Cool Design Contest

An SGC team led by Ken Yamazaki and Fabien Marino has won an award for their design of an intelligent multi-channel fermentor. The fermentor system will allow SGC scientists to produce optimal yield of recombinant protein on route to determining a large number of protein structures.

The design beat out other entries in the educational category of this annual contest held by Javelin Technology of Oakville, Canada.
