Feb 4, 2005 - SGC and McLaughlin-Rotman Centre to Collaborate
on Structural Biology of Malarial Proteins
The Structural Genomics Consortium and the
McLaughlin-Rotman Centre for Global Health
have agreed to enter a research partnership focused on determining 3D structures of proteins
from malarial parasites.
Leveraging the SGC’s high throughput engine in structural biology and
the McLaughlin-Rotman Centre’s expertise in infectious diseases,
the project will entail expression and crystallization of proteins
from plasmodium species and related apicomplexans.
The results from this project, which expands the SGC’s ongoing malarial structural biology efforts,
will include recombinant proteins and structural data,
all of which will be made available to the research community at large.
