High Throughput Protein Crystallization

Our protein crystallization process is based on preparing blocks of crystal screens in 96-well deep well plates using a liquid handling robot, which is also used to transfer the same reagents, typically 100 microliters, to crystal plates as mother liquor. Using the Mosquito robot, we dispense protein drops in volumes ranging from 100 nanoliters to 1.2 microliters and mix with mother liquor in pre-determined ratios.

We have developed custom screens from commercial and published screens, taking advantage of conditions with the highest known success rates:
