Mark Bedford performed his undergraduate studies at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. He obtained his PhD degree from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel. He then received his postdoctoral training under the mentorship of Dr. Philip Leder at Harvard Medical School. Mark established his own research group in 2000 at MD Anderson Cancer Center. His group uses genetic, proteomic and chemical approaches to study the biological roles of arginine methylation.
